Man as a social and cultural being throughout history

Comparative studies are often used in our approach to understand different aspects of human life such as material culture, language, behavioural studies, images of self, cultural encounters etc. In general research at the department relates to current issues in society.

The department has a close working relationship with the Museum of Moesgård and the Museum of Ancient Art.
